Sebastian Ofner comes into 2023 in a much better position than last year, injury free! His aim will be to climb the rankings, and qualifying for the Australian Open will help him enormousely! His game is suited to all conditions, winning Challengers on both clay and hard courts. The Austrian has never qualified for the Australian Open, but is now one game away after beating Meligeni and Tabilo in straight sets. He’s been playing some fantastic tennis, and has only dropped serve once in those two matches.
Laurent Lokoli
Lokoli has been palying his best tennis, reaching a career high of 176. He managed to reach the final of Noumea Challenger last week, and beat Bellier and Tu in qualifying this week (two solid players). 2022 saw an amazing title run for the Frenchman, winning 5 ITF titles though hasn’t succeeded in finding that Challenger title! I don’t rate Lokoli’s game too highly, and he’ll need to step it up a gear if he wants to beat the hard hitting Austrian.
