Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Daria Kasatkina Prediction, Tips & Odds – Oct. 06, 2022 19:30 CET
Alexandrova comes into Ostrava after winning her second title in Seoul, but with Kasatkina having one of her best years in her career, the match will be a tough one to call.
Ekaterina Alexandrova
Alexandrova is having a relatively successful year so far despite a tough start to the year, where it took her four months to string more than two wins in a row. But soon she found some form, and won at Hertogenbosch in a pretty dominant week and more recently won her second title in Seoul. Despite two titles, Seoul was the first time she won back-to-back matches on hard courts. She hasn’t had much luck at Ostrava either, losing in the opening round in 2019 and losing in the qualification rounds in the second round, she’ll be hoping she can turn that around this time.
Wait for a heartwarming moment at the end

Daria Kasatkina
Kasatkina has been grinding out some impressive results this year, and has been rewarded with two titles at San Jose and Granby. When looking at her results this season, the majority of players who have beaten Kasatkina have been top elite WTA players (Anisimova, Badosa, Swiatek, Kerber, Jabeur, Sakkari, Andreescu). The only true upsets have been against Siniakova and Dart. After a disappointing first round exit at the US Open, she’ll be hoping to bounce back this week at Ostrava.
Big serve, big win 👊

They pair have faced each other three times, where Kasatkina leads 2-1.
Prediction
I have Kasatkina as a slight favourite in this match up. Though Alexandrova did win a title just a couple weeks ago, she has struggled a lot even on her favourite surface. Meanwhile Kasatkina has looked so good this year, and her loss to Dart could be excusable considering she had a long week in Canada when she won the Granby open. Happy to take Kasatkina here.
