Borna Gojo has been playing both Challenger level tournaments and ATP tournaments. He only has one title to his name in his professional career, which came late last year in October where he won in the indoor conditions of Ortisei in Italy, winning every match in straight sets. Tomas Machac hasn’t really had the season he’s been hoping for. He hasn’t won any Challengers this season, which is disappointing as he’s won at least one title every year since 2018. Last year he won two Challenger titles, both on hard courts. This year he’s only made one final appearance in Prostejov, where he disappointingly lost to Svrcina who was a big underdog. He has made some inroads on the tour, managing to grab a set off Casper Ruud and Novak Djokovic in the first couple months of the year. Then managed a quarter-final appearance in Houston, before losing out to Hanfmann. The Czech is in need of a good run, and a win today will be huge for him.
