Tasmania JackJumpers Team News

During the international break, the focus in the JackJumpers camp was exclusively on injuries and roster changes. The changes that occurred in their team in the last two weeks are somewhat reminiscent of the January transfer window in European football.

In today´s clash the JackJumpers will be without the services of one of their main producers, import Milton Doyle, and two essential role players, Jarrad Weeks and Matthew Kenyon. However, after a long wait the Tasmanian team will welcome back its captain and one of the deadliest shooters in the league, Clint Steindl, along with its frontcourt bulldozer Will Magnay.

New Zealand Breakers Team News

In the intro we stated that the Breakers are the most pleasant surprise of the season, but that´s what the majority thinks. We actually knew this was bound to happen after they retooled their team during the summer and appointed Mody Maor as the new head coach.

With new imports arriving to town and some familiar faces returning to the squad, the recent resurgence of the Breakers shouldn´t come as a surprise. After they started off the season on the wrong foot with an overtime loss to United away from home, everything came together for them as they currently find themselves at the top of the standings only one win below the reigning champions.

The hosts suffered losses of three key players, but will have two of their stars back. After not playing for some time, both Steindl and Magnay definitely won´t be at the top of their game, but should contribute.

In our opinion, it won´t be enough against the away team, which has already beaten them twice this season at home. Early on in the season, the Breakers won a gritty affair at home(71:65), and then dismantled the JackJumpers around three weeks later by 32 points.
