The old times of the exciting run and gun Adelaide 36ers that thrilled the NBL crowds are long gone. The Adelaide 36ers have failed to quality for the playoffs for five consecutive seasons, including the last two with CJ Bruton at the helm, but surprisingly decided to keep him as the head coach.
Compared to last season, their roster doesn´t look so spectacular. They certainly have enough to make the playoffs with their new imports and a solid domestic supporting cast led by the experienced Jason Cadee and Mitch McCarron, but that´s about it. There is nothing exciting regarding the 36ers in the new season and that was clearly visible in their opening games.
The 36ers have lost all three of their games so far, but in their last match they finally showed some spirit and almost turned around a 17-point deficit against the Perth Wildcats. Can they take that second half momentum into today´s game remains to be seen, but knowing the 36ers another meltdown wouldn´t be surprising.

They did show some grit in their last game against Perth in their second half comeback attempt, but the Kings are playing at home and are rightfully convincing favourites to win the match.
