The current 2-5 record and eighth position perfectly describe the situation in the Fuemasters camp. We can even say their franchise is going through a transitional period after their old head coach Topex Robinson left, which would mean making the Governors´ Cup postseason would be a huge success at the moment.
The Phoenix Fuelmasters enter the grueling matchup against the high-flying FiberXers on the back of a solid win against the Dyip, but besides that they don´t have anything else going in their favour today.

The run and gun fast-paced type of basketball sometimes costs the FiberXers, as it did against the shorthanded NLEX Road Warriors a week ago, but long-term they should be fine and should pose a serious threat in the playoffs.
Following their blunder loss to the NLEX, they had an ideal matchup against the Bossing to bolster their confidence. With a routine 98:90 victory they got back on the right track and also mathematically secured an eliminations berth.
Their work is not done, however, as they still need to seal a top 4 finish. With only three games remaining on their schedule and with fixtures against Ginebra and Meralco coming up after today´s game, the FiberXers can´t afford to lose this Sunday.

If the Fuelmasters want to remain entrenched in the playoff zone, they need to notch a breakthrough victory against a team of at least similar quality. They had their way with an undermanned NorthPort side and the unstable Terrafirma, which will not be enough to mount an upset today.
However, in the previous round Phoenix managed to overcome the ejection of their import star Du´Vaughn Maxwell and beat the Dyip in impressive fashion. In that game they also welcomed back a crucial domestic piece of their roster in Javee Mocon, who immediately contributed.
Overall, we think that the Fuelmasters will come up short but should be able to produce offensively, which coupled with the up-tempo style of Converge, gives nice value to our Vave combo.
