Truly a sad ending to the regular season of the Nelson Giants. The basketball gods were not on their side this year as they entered this final round with a serious chance of clinching a playoff berth, but were hit with some key injuries that have severely shorthanded their squad.
Playing their last two games without the presence of their best import scorers Avery Woodson and Matur Maker, the Giants gave it their all but simply didn´t have enough talent to stay afloat against the Otago Nuggets(75:86) and the Taranaki Airs (82:108).
