Aldin Ayo and his Converge FiberXers have definitely lost the spark following their quarter-final exit in the recent Governors´ Cup. After three rounds played, the FiberXers are still winless succumbing to Blackwater in the opener and then losing against two title favourites TNT and Barangay Ginebra.
The double-digit loss to Blackwater is inexcusable, but the rest of the schedule really hasn´t been kind to Converge. After their opening loss, the FiberXers had to face the big three of PBA basketball in TNT, Ginebra and the Beermen, so as time progresses we expect them to rise in form and in the standings, but their rise shouldn´t start today against currently much better San Miguel Beermen side.

June Mar Fajardo, Terrence Romeo and company had a shocker to open their PBA Commisioner´s Cup campaign failing to convert a 19-point lead against the NLEX Road Warriors and lost in overtime. However, they quickly bounced back against the Meralco Bolts in the following round winning 93:83 with their import player Ivan Aska leading the way with a mean double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds.
Today they have an excellent opportunity to inch closer to the top and solidify a playoff position against the winless Converge FiberXers. The Beer are currently in much better shape and have much more talent than the FiberXers, so they deservedly enter the match in Quezon as the favourites.
