The Elasto Painters are currently inside the playoff zone with an even 4-4 record, but much more was expected from them after Yeng Guiao decided to come back. Unstable form has been the norm so far, but Rain or Shine have shown glimpses of championship potential with their 22-point decimation of the Ginebra Kings.
At the moment the Elasto Painters are within reach of a top 8 spot with only a couple of rounds remaining, so they decided to help their cause by introducing a new import.
Despite averaging a double-double so far, Steve Taylor was replaced with a smaller forward Ryan Pearson. Bigger things were expected from Taylor, who was brought in at the last second as a replacement for Daniel Ochefu.

The Bay Area Dragons lost their second PBA game a week ago, but there is no reason to panic. The Bolts kept up with the Chinese team for the entire game and deservedly won after showing excellent composure during a tight finish.
As we said before, the Dragons can´t have both of their American imports on the floor at once. Since he made his debut, Andrew Nicholson has been unstoppable and even had a 50-point game against Meralco, but head coach Brian Goorjian wants other players to be more involved.
They wasted no time ahead of today´s game and reactivated Myles Powell. He might not be able to score as much as Nicholson, but his mindset and willingness to involve other teammates should stabilize and benefit the team much more.

It shouldn´t take long for the Bay Area Dragons to get going with a familiar face back in their lineup. On the other hand, the same can´t be said about the Elasto Painters, who will feature a completely new foreign player.
Rain or Shine had bigger goals with their old coach returning. Despite their many ups and downs this season, they still find themselves inside the playoff zone, but today´s game is definitely not ideal for improving their position and incorporating a new star player.
The spread seems about right and has no real value, but the Total Under seems very interesting. The Dragons have improved defensively and play better basketball overall with Powell, while Rain or Shine are as gritty and defensive-minded as they can be at the moment.
