Denis Shapovalov vs. Tommy Paul Prediction, Tips and Odds – Jun. 14, 2022, 12:00 CET

The ATP grass tournament at London’s Queen’s Club is taking place this week, and sixth seed Denis Shapovalov and Tommy Paul will meet at the start of the tournament.
This will be a match between tennis players who cannot boast of good form in the last few months, so they both wish to stay in the tournament as long as possible in order to prepare for Wimbledon, which starts at the end of June.

Denis Shapovalov
Shapovalov’s form has been far from optimal in the last few tournaments. He played great at the Masters in Rome and reached the quarterfinals, but was eliminated in the next three competitions at the very beginning.
Ivashka beat him in Geneva, Rune eliminated him in the first round of Roland Garros, and the season on grass did not start in a positive way for the Canadian. He participated in the tournament in Stuttgart, Germany, last week, where he was defeated by Otte also in the first round.
Denis Shapovalov is a tennis player with a strange temperament who is prone to constant oscillations, but his potential is huge. He was impressive this part of the year last season and he demonstrated his best games at Wimbledon, where he reached the semifinals. This is his best result at Grand Slams in his career so far, and we believe that his plan is to achieve the best possible result at the Queen’s Club in order to prepare well for the most important and biggest tournament on grass.

Tommy Paul
Former World No. 3 junior has stagnated in the last few months. Tommy Paul did not go beyond the third round in any tournament this year, except in Delray Beach where he participated in the semifinals, but that was back in February.
This American player was eliminated in the first round of five of the last six tournaments in which he participated. Paul only made it to the second round in Rome, but lost at that stage. He, like Shapovalov, participated in a grass tournament last week, but in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, and was also eliminated at the start by Nakashima 1-2.
It was his only match on grass in the last three seasons, and that shows how much he dislikes playing on this surface. He served well in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, and he played three tie breaks, but that segment of the game will not be enough to be an equal rival to the Canadian tennis player.

Denis Shapovalov vs. Tommy Paul Prediction
We are of the opinion that Denis Shapovalov is a better player than Tommy Paul on this type of surface and he will confirm that in the match on Tuesday. Previous results of the American tennis player show that he does not enjoy playing on grass, while the Canadian wants to better prepare for Wimbledon and show that he is able to repeat the result from 2021.
Prediction: Denis Shapovalov -2.5 games
