Quentin Halys
The 25 year old Frenchman has had a relatively successful year so far, reaching five challenger finals (winning two). A much better showing compared to last year, where he held a 36-28 record. This year he currently holds a 42-17 win-to-loss ratio. Despite a disappointing 5-4 record this year on the grass, he still put a very good showing in the 2nd Round of Wimbledon against Basilashvili (winning 15 more points despite losing 3-1) and also recorded an impressive win over Kudla during Queen’s.
With Halys’ huge serve, it’s always a difficult task to play against him on indoor hards or grass. He’s very talented, and this season you can see that he’s finally putting his game together. If he fixes up his consistency, he can be a very dangerous player.

Alexei Popyrin
Popyrin had his best run last year, where he grabbed his first main ATP title last year in Singapore and made produced some surprising results on the clay – most notably beating Sinner in straight sets. Similarly to Halys, the Australian has a huge serving game. Popyrin has had a hold rate of 84.9% so far this season on grass (although only 12 matches). Despite going 4-11 on hard courts this year, he’s had a hold percentage of 80.1%.
The service isn’t just the strong point for Popyrin, his forehand is very good, and is able to control the baseline with it well. His consistency this year hasn’t been anywhere good enough compared to last year, but he will be hoping to change that in his next match.

H2H
The pair have met a total of four times since 2018, with a 2-2 record. Most recently in May, where Popyrin beat Halys 6-2 6-7(5) 6-7(4). This will be their first meeting on grass.
Quentin Halys vs. Alexei Popyrin Prediction
This should be a close match where both should hold their serves consistently. I like the overs total here.
