If we had to pick one player on the Tour who is always dangerous and capable of an upset, then we would definitely choose Stan Wawrinka. Former world number 3 has been struggling with injuries and missed a lot of tournaments so his current 290th position in the ATP rankings is not a true reflection of his quality.
He is known as a giant killer and a big-match player. Except for Wimbledon, he managed to win all the Grand Slam titles but he refuses to retire as he believes he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level. After suffering a first-round exit from Roland Garros three weeks ago against Corentin Moutet, the main issue will be his physical shape and condition after his body dealt with numerous injuries over the last couple of years.

Stan will get a perfect opportunity to test his physical shape against Frances Tiafoe. Despite playing on his favourite clay and hard surfaces, the American is struggling mightily this season. His only notable result was reaching the final in Estoril a little over a month ago where he easily lost to Sebastian Baez.
Since then he only won one match and got eliminated in the first rounds of Madrid and Rome. He did reach the second round of Roland Garros, but if that´s the best he can do at the moment, then he should be extremely worried about playing against Wawrinka.

Even though Tiafoe proved he can compete on the fastest tennis surface by winning the Nottingham Challenger last year, a grass surface is not his forte. Wawrinka definitely has the advantage in that department as the only question is can he maintain the same level of play for an entire match. After he was plagued with injuries and setbacks, Stan is most probably sharpening his form for Wimbledon so we have to take him to at least cover the spread. Because of his current ranking, the odds are heavily in favor of Tiafoe so we will also back the massive 2.65 moneyline odds for Stan to win.
