Cristian Garin
Cristian Garin made his breakthrough on the ATP tour in 2019 and 2020. In that period, he won four titles on clay, and later made his way to top 20 on the ATP rankings. This season, he played few solid tournaments on that surface. The best result was at the Masters in Rome, where he was eliminated by Alexander Zverev in quarterfinals.
Garin never did well on faster surfaces. He played at the Wimbledon four times so far, and three times he was eliminated in the first round. Last year, he reached fourth round, which was his best Grand Slam result, but he was quite lucky in the draw. He defeated two qualifiers in first two rounds, and then knocked out Pedro Martinez in third round.
This year, Garin played even better and he will compete in the Grand Slam quarterfinals for the first time in his career. He was supposed to play against Matteo Berrettini in first round, but the Italian had to withdraw due to corona virus. Garin had a slightly easier road to fourth round, but a win against Alex de Minaur after losing first two sets shows that he is very much capable of winning big.

Nick Kyrgios
At only 19 years old, Nick Kyrgios played in the Wimbledon quartefinals back in 2014. Then, everyone predicted him a brilliant career with lots of success, but he never reached his full potential. The reason for such a thing was his immaturity, bad behavior and lack of interest. He admitted that he often drank until dawn at tournaments and in such circumstances it is impossible to make a good result.
Last season, he finished at lowly 93rd position on the ATP rankings and some things changed after that. After his win in the Wimbledon fourth round against Brandon Nakashima, Kyrgios said he has a different view on tennis now. He emphasized that he surrounded himself with the right people and that he expects a lot of good things in near future.
Progress was very visible in the last month. He played 13 matches on grass this season and won 11 times. His serve works very well, and he is able to win rallies as well. Kyrgios will be the absolute favorite against Garin and if he doesn’t have a blackout, he will have an open path to the semifinals.
Nick Kyrgios survives some shoulder pain and a very tough match, beating Brandon Nakashima 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-2 to reach the QFs at Wimbledon for the first time since 2014.

Prediction
Kyrgios is a much better player on this surface than Garin. The Chilean will have a problem to get many break points, while in every service game he will have a trouble to save own serve. It is almost certain that Kyrgios will win this match in three or four sets, and that one set will be won by a convincing margin.
