Federico Coria

Coria is Coria’s strongest skill is his impressive defensive play, his game is dependant on the opponent making an error rather than hitting winners. As is the case for most players like this, his serve is weak and tends to concede many break points (a total of 495 break points so far this season!). His hold percentage has been a low 71.7% so far this season.

Coria has had a difficult season this year, with the Argentinian struggling in July. He then had another tough test in Nicolas Jarry in the first round of Kitzbühel, one of the best on his day in altitude clay conditions, where he won in straight sets.

Martinez will be hoping to replicate last year’s result where he reached the final, and will be looking forward to a less tougher opponent in Coria.

Prediction

The Spaniard enjoys the altitude conditions, and have him as a much larger favourite against Coria. He should be able to outpower the Argentinian easily, and when he doesn’t, Martinez will have the rally tolerance to keep up with Coria.
