It’s crazy to think that Gauff, who turned 18 years old earlier this year, will be playing her 138th tour level match. Though Gauff has struggled to beat the elite players so far in her career, there’s no doubt she’s getting better and better and it’ll be very soon where we will see her winning WTA events more. Naomi Osaka

Noami Osaka will be happy with her performance against the in form Zheng Qinwen, winning 6-3 3-6 6-1. That was her first match since May in Roland Garros, and her first win since Madrid. She was serving outstandingly well, collecting 11 aces.

The four time Grandslam champion was on top of her game, but after mental health problems she decided to take a break. The lack of match play will be a worry for her, and after seeing Gauff dismantle Kalilina, she’ll be in for a tough ride.

The pair have faced each other three times, with Osaka having a 2-1 lead. 2019 saw Osaka win in straight sets at the US Open against 15 year old Gauff, but the American got her revenge and beat Osaka in straight sets at the Ausrtalian Open. The most recent match up was last year, where Osaka won in three sets.
