Adrian Mannarino
Mannarino has overcome two tough qualification games against Kwon and Purcell, needing to come back from a set down against the Korean. He now finds himself facing big server Rinderknech in the opening round of Montreal.
The Frenchman has struggled the past couple of years, going 21-23 in 2022 so far and 14-26 in 2021. He’s made a couple of runs to the Quarter Finals, most recently in Atlanta (though he faced Gojowczyk and Martin in the first two rounds, and also got in as a Lucky Loser). He will be hoping to secure a win tonight.

Rinderknech also hasn’t had the best of seasons, though he did make the finals of Adelaide 2 in January, narrowly losing out too Kokkinakis. He also won a Challenger title in Poland in June, which was a much needed boost in confidence after he went four matches without a win. He’ll be happy that he took out Taro Daniel in straight sets after a scare against local Canadian Aguilar.
