Hermansson vs. Strickland
A duel that will promote the winner into the position of the leading contender for the title. Suppose that winner is Strickland because of all his “personality” and UFC policy; maybe after this fight, Strickland could be the main challenger.
Hermansson is one of those characters who are willing to get over the broken glass and give a couple of years of life in the fight to get a victory. He won the sympathy and respect of all fans of freestyle wrestling when he turned the fight against Leites with a broken rib in the first round and won under terrible pain. Jack is one of the best grapplers in the entire division; there is not much dilemma, he mostly ends his fights when he knocks the opponent to the ground, and with constant action and punches, he forces the referee to stop the fight.
Against Shabazyan, he was in trouble in the first round; he is not doing very well under pressure in standup, which was shown against Vettori and Cannonier. Still, as soon as he knocked Shabazyan to the floor, he started to dominate the fight. His boxing is not great; he has solid direct, a little slow but effective, to shorten the distance and bring down the opponent down to his own field. Along with not coping with the pressure, one of the problems is the beard, which has been a bit torn over the years.
Strickland is a vivid character. A guy you wouldn’t want to meet in the dark alley. As a young man, he was a member of motorcycle gangs and skinheads; countless street fights are behind him. He channeled his “crazy” side through MMA, but we can often see those psycho moments in the octagon. When we said that Vettori made a lot of trouble with pressure on Hermansson, no fighter in the category looks more like Vettori in fighting style than Stickland. In standup, he is very aggressive, physically very strong (statistically, his number of strokes per minute is about 5.5).
Hermansson: 22W-6L, 33 years old, height 185 cm, reach 197 cm
Strickland: 24W-3L, 30 years, height 185cm, reach 193cm.
Type: Strickland by decision or technical decision

Rakhmonov vs. Harris
The UFC’s welterweight category has been dangerously intensifying lately, with the UFC looking for someone who will be able to dethrone Usman. One of those potential candidates comes to us from Kazakhstan, a country of martial arts that has dominated the Olympics for years, especially in boxing. The guy whose name we could remember very quickly is Shavkat Rakhmonov, who has not been defeated in his MMA career so far. His score, even if it was created in some smaller organizations, is for respect. He build his career in the Russian M1 organization in all these hardcore conditions and a high-quality selection of opponents, as far as beginners are concerned. The popular Nomad is not much catered by match-makers in the UFC either; he got two dangerous and experienced opponents for someone who is making his debut. So he easily defeated them and showed that the level is higher. A level higher as far as the head is concerned, totally calm, dedicated.
His opponent this time too is not a guy who is there to thicken the score. It is about the solid and experienced Carlston Harris. Many have been surprised by Harris since coming to the UFC, especially with the finals in the first round, but realistically, the quality of Harris’ opponents compared to the Rakhmons is much weaker. Harris is physically great, he has a good right jab, and he is very good on the ground, he likes to use wire, but against Rakhmon, that may not be a good idea. Harris is also on a great streak of 5 wins and is bursting with confidence. Basically, both fighters have shown that they are great partners, so it would not be surprising that the fight goes to the ground from the very beginning, but it is always difficult to predict. One thing is for sure, after this fight, we will finally see if Rakhmon is for the very top of the category, as many analysts think, or Harris, with his experience, will slow him down that path.
Rakhomonov: 14W-0L. 27 years old, height 185cm, reach 193cm
Harris: 17W-4L, 34 years old, height 182 cm, reach 187 cm
Tip: Over 1.5 Rounds
