Washington Football Team vs Kansas City Chiefs | NFL – Oct. 17, 2021

Washington Football Team is a team that had a lot of problems at the start of the new season. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was injured immediately and will not play for at least another seven days. Due to that, the team from the USA capital suffers a lot in the offense. Washington’s greatest strength lies in their head coach Ron Rivera, who showed his knowledge by leading the Carolina Panthers, and in his first season on the Washington bench, he won a division and advanced to the playoffs. It is hard to believe that he can repeat something like that this year, but he will certainly not give up because that is not a feature of any team that Rivera led.
Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most unpleasant surprises in the course of the season so far. The winners of the 2019 SuperBowl, as well as the finalists from last season, recorded as many as three defeats in the first five weeks and the team simply does not play well. The biggest problem lies in the defense which allows opponents a lot of space to play through the air which was best seen against the Buffalo Bills who destroyed the Chiefs secondary. Patrick Mahomes can’t carry the team alone even though he had some dazzling games that we’ve been accustomed from him for a long time. The Chiefs in Washington must not allow themselves another failure and will surely be highly motivated from the start. They have a much better team on the paper, their ambitions are drastically higher and Andy Reid has certainly prepared a plan on how to get out of the crisis.
Injuries
As already mentioned, Washington has not had its starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick since before, and Samuel Cosmi, Curtis Samuel, Jared Morris, Brandon Scherff and Cam Sims have been injured in the meantime.
Chris Jones will not be part of the Chiefs this week either, and neither Charvarius Ward nor Blake Bell have traveled to Washington. Tyreek Hill is questionable, but expects to run out onto the field in sunday.
Previous results and H2H
Washington started the season with a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers at home, to then beat the Giants in New York. Since then, they have recorded two more defeats and one victory, and have a 2-3 result.
Chiefs are on an identical score of 2-3 which was certainly not expected of them as they all predicted their first place in the AFC. They were destroyed at their stadium last week in a duel against the Buffalo Bills.
Chiefs have won all six games against Washington since 1997, and the last time this happened was in 2017.
Predictions
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -5.5
Odds: 1.72
Bookmaker: Bet365
The Chiefs simply have to win this time because in case of defeat they would go to 2-4 and then the placement in the playoffs would be called into question. Washington’s quality is not even close to their level, and since there is no room for relaxation, one should expect the difference to be high in favor of the Chiefs already in the first half.
