nfl predictions

The biggest match of the third week in the NFL will be played by the Los Angeles Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With his arrival at the Los Angeles Rams in 2017, Sean McVay completely changed the course of this franchise, which under his leadership constantly looks like one of the best teams in the league. For the first two years, the defense was the one that was impressive, while McVay constantly showed his genius in offense even though he had one of the weakest quarterbacks in the league. After losing a game to the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs last year, Jared Goff was traded to the Detroit Lions and was replaced by Matt Stafford. The experienced quarterback demonstrated quality in the first two weeks and the Rams’ offense looks reborn. McVay has finally got a leader on the field he can trust and if the defense is at a satisfactory level this year, the Rams will be serious candidates for the championship title.

The Bucs are in a 10-game winning streak, including those four in the playoffs that led them to the SuperBowl. Even though he’s 44, Tom Brady doesn’t look like someone who should have been retired a long time ago. The best quarterback of all time is closer to attacking another championship ring. The Bucs opened the season fairly easily, but now a real challenge follows against one of the best teams in the league. The collaboration between Brady and head coach Bruce Arians is impressive, and when you look at how many options Brady has in offense, there is no reason to doubt that this offense will be impressive throughout the year. Rob Gronkowski is more and more reminiscent of the old one, and how well the Bucs are doing away from home, they demonstrated in January this year.

Expected lineups

The Los Angeles Rams will likely have all the players available on sunday night. Running back Darrell Henderson has had problems with his ribs but expects to play. Jacob Harris is also questionable, however and in his case he is expected to run out on the field.

The Buccaneers traveled to Los Angeles without wide receiver Jaydon Mickens and defensive player Jason Pierre-Paul. Antonio Brown will also most likely not be on the team due to COVID-19.

Previous games

These teams have played against each other in both previous seasons. Last year, the Los Angeles Rams won in Tampa Bay, while the Buccaneers took the triumph from California in 2019.

Both teams are currently at 2-0. The Rams easily beat the Chicago Bears in the first week, to beat the Indianapolis Colts after that last weekend. The Bucs had two easy rivals at the start of the season and recorded wins against the Cowboys and Falcons.

Prediction: Los Angeles Rams +2.5 (Rams will not lose by 3 or more)

Odds: 1.80

Regardless of Tom Brady and the Bucs, the Rams with Stafford can in no way be outsiders at home. The Bucs showed a weaker performance against the Cowboys in the first week and the defense is still not at a satisfactory level. It is to be expected that turnovers will decide the winner, and the impression is that Brady could have more problems than Stafford this time and that will be crucial.
