San Francisco 49ers
Kyle Shanahan’s arrival in San Francisco in 2017 was greeted with great enthusiasm. At the time, the former Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator was considered one of the best offensive minds in the entire NFL, but he was unlucky on the 49ers bench for the first two years. Injuries simply destroyed the team, so in 2019 everything would be different. This time, there were no injuries, and the 49ers reached the SuperBowl, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
When it seemed that team would continue in that direction, that did not happen. Last year, injuries again created many problems, so this season the team simply played poorly. The defeat by the crippled Arizona Cardinals three weeks ago set off red alarms and questioned Shanahan’s status in San Francisco. However, good games from the previous two weeks have reassured critics. Still, a place in the playoffs imposes itself as an imperative, and the 49ers simply have to get a win against Minnesota Vikings at home.

Minnesota Vikings
If the team with the highest mediocrity had to be chosen in the entire NFL, it would be the Minnesota Vikings. Mike Zimmer is under attack from all the fans, and some even hope that the team will not earn a spot in the playoffs so that the head coach can finally get fired. Of the ten games played this season, as many as nine have been decided on one possession. Of the five defeats, the Vikings have lost some matches in a way that is difficult to explain and bordering on impossible.
There is simply no match won in advance in the Zimmer era, and there is no advantage that the Vikings cannot lose. In some of the previous years, they used to have one of the best rosters in the NFL, but they never charged for it properly. They have achieved two very important victories in the last two weeks, but in order to find themselves in the playoffs, they will have to beat the 49ers in San Francisco, and that will be anything but a simple task.
A pair of 5-5 teams square off tomorrow in San Francisco.

Injuries
JaMycal Hasty will not be playing this week, so the 49ers running game will depend on Jeff Wilson. Elijah Mitchell is doubtful for this encounter. Maurice Hurst will also not play at home.
Wyatt Davis will not play for Vikings, while the status of Bashaud Breeland is questionable.
Previous Results and H2H
Both teams are at 5-5 and are in a direct battle for one of three wild-card spots. The winner in this clash will make a big step towards the playoffs, while the losers will be in big trouble, just like the head coach of the losing team. The 49ers have only one win at home this year which is quite a worrying figure. The last rehearsal of these teams was nearly two years ago in the playoffs when the 49ers routinely won in San Francisco.

Looking at the quality of the lineups, the teams are similar. The biggest difference is in the coaching quality that the San Francisco 49ers have, and they also play at home, which should be an additional advantage. This may be the match of the season for both teams, and in such circumstances, the 49ers and Kyle Shanahan instill much more confidence.
