The Indianapolis Colts had a terrible start of the new season and now one of the best NFL teams is visiting them.
Indianapolis Colts
In the final week of last season, the Indianapolis Colts missed a spot in the playoffs in an incredible way. They were defeated by the Jacksonville Jaguars, for whom that game meant absolutely nothing, which was a big shock. Head coach Frank Reich survived that loss, but it looks like he won’t be stay in Indiana for too long.
Between two seasons, the Colts decided to let Carson Wentz, and Matt Ryan was chosen as new starting quarterback. This turned out to be an extremely bad decision. In first two weeks, this team looked awful. First, they failed to beat the Houston Texans, who are currently one of the weakest teams in the NFL, and then they were humiliated by the Jaguars 24:0. Right now, nothing looks good and everything is pointing towards owner Jim Irsay cleaning house at the end of the season. That means firing Reich and general manager Chris Ballard.
This game may be the last chance for Reich and his team to change the course of the floundering ship. A win against one of the best teams in the league would get everyone back on track, but based on what we’ve seen so far, it seems like science fiction.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs made an unpleasant surprise in the playoffs last season. They lost in conference finals to the Cincinnati Bengals and they are now on a mission. They want to return to the Super Bowl, where they appeared two years in a row (2020-2021). Definitely, the Cheifs have quality for such a thing.
Tyreek Hill signed with the Miami Dolphins, but that didn’t weaken the Chiefs offense at all. Patrick Mahomes has a lot of good options in backfield and we saw that in the first two weeks. They destroyed the Cardinals in Arizona, and then they managed to beat the Los Angeles Chargers. On paper, this should be the easiest game for the Chiefs so far, but their approach will have to be serious. The Colts did stumble, but in the NFL, one game is enough to change everything.
The Chiefs will look to hold first place in the AFC in order to have home field advantage through entire playoffs. With the Buffalo Bills current form, there can be no relaxing for Andy Reid’s team. We should expect their best face in Indianapolis.

Last time these two teams played against each other was three years ago when the Colts won in Kansas City 19:13. It should be remembered that one of the biggest comebacks in NFL history happened when these two teams played back in the 2014 playoffs. Then, the Colts won 45:44 even though they were losing 38:10 at one point.
Injuries
Bernhard Raimann and Shaquille Leonard are injured and won’t play for the Indianapolis Colts. Harrison Butker didn’t recover and he didn’t travel to Indianapolis which means backup kicker Matt Ammendola will play for the Chiefs. All other players are available to the visiting team.

It’s crazy to expect anything but a convincing win for the Chiefs. In first two weeks, they showed themselves as one of the best teams in the league, while the Colts offense was arguably the worst. All this leads to the conclusion that visitors will triumph easily.
