Philadelphia 76ers
Last year, the Philadelphia 76ers were knocked out in the Eastern Conference semifinals by the Atlanta Hawks even though they were absolute favorites in that series. Best player Joel Embiid and head coach Doc Rivers put all the blame on Ben Simmons, and out of revolt, he refused to play for the 76ers again. The drama around Simmons lasted until February this year when he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets for James Harden. In that way, the 76ers brought in one of the best offensive players in the whole league. Embiid and Harden are currently one of the most deadly tandems in the NBA. They both still don’t have a championship ring and will do everything they can to get it.
Tobias Harris is still on the team as the third option in the offense. In the first game against Toronto Raptors in this series, Tyrese Maxey scored 38 points and played the best match of his career, so the 76ers have a lot of potential in offense. If their defense can be at a high level, they are one of the main candidates for the title this year.
good start to the series!

Toronto Raptors
To everyone’s surprise, Toronto Raptors won the NBA title in 2019. Best player and Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard signed for Los Angeles Clippers right after that, and general manager Masai Ujiri did a great job in rebuilding this franchise. Looking at the starting five from the 2019 NBA finals, only Pascal Siakam is still in Toronto, along with Fred VanVleet. Around the two of them, Ujiri built a new team capable of battling for a good result in the Eastern Conference. OJ Anunoby played the best season of his career and rookie Scottie Barnes turned out to be a great pick in last year’s draft. Raptors do not have the quality to go far in playoffs this year and will probably be eliminated against the 76ers, but they have four mentioned players around whom they can build a team that will again be able to chase a place in the NBA finals.
Head coach Nick Nurse has established himself as one of the best in the league and some media have even written that he could succeed Frank Vogel in Los Angeles Lakers, although this does not seem like a realistic scenario.

H2H
76ers and Raptors played four times in a regular season and the Raptors have won three times. In the most important game that was played two days ago, 76ers won 131: 111 and took a 1:0 lead in this series. When the Raptors won the NBA title in 2019, they knocked out the 76ers in the Eastern Conference semifinals when Kawhi Leonard scored a buzzer-beater in game 7.
Injuries
All players are available for the Philadelphia 76ers. Scottie Barnes and Thaddeus Young are questionable for Toronto Raptors, but they are expected to play.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction
In the first game in this series, a huge difference in quality was seen. The 76ers were well prepared and achieved an easy win, although Harden and Embiid played with a dose of reserve in the offense. It will hardly change much in the second game.
