Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn Nets are facing a real disaster. After three games in the Eastern Conference first-round, they are trailing 3-0 against Boston Celtics. When Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving arrived in Brooklyn, the goal was to win an NBA title. As things stand now, this will be the third unsuccessful year for them. In their first year, none of them played due to injury, while last season they were knocked out in the Eastern Conference semifinals by Milwaukee Bucks. Due to the broken relationship in the locker room, James Harden was traded for Ben Simmons. Irving missed almost all home games because he was not vaccinated, and he was not allowed to play games in New York. These are all reasons why the Nets finished the regular season in seventh place.
It was expected that Durant and Irving will raise their game to a much higher level in the playoffs, but the Celtic’s defense completely neutralized them. Head coach Steve Nash failed probably the most. He has not found a way to help his best players at all, nor has he made any adjustments throughout the series. Nets are one step away from being eliminated, but they will certainly not give up until the very end.

Boston Celtics
Boston Celtics looked pretty bad in the first 40 games of this season. However, after the All-Stars break, everything changed. At the end of January, they were 25-25, but they finished the regular season in second place in Eastern Conference with 51 wins and 31 losses. In the last 32 games of the regular season, they have won 26 games. Spectacular defense is the main reason for such a turnaround. New head coach Ime Udoka obviously needed time to implement his ideas and when they clicked at one point, they became unstoppable. Boston Celtics are statistically the best defense in NBA and Marcus Smart was named the best defensive player of the year.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown look great on both sides of the floor, not just in offense, while Al Horford’s experience is very important. Through this series, Celtics received big help from their bench as well. Payton Pritchard used every minute on the court and Daniel Thies played so well that Robert Williams’s absence was not noticed at all in the first two games.
Marcus Smart: “It’s going exactly how we expected, for the most part, just because we believe in ourselves more than anything.”

Injuries
Although it was announced that Ben Simmons could return for game number four, that will not happen. Joe Harris is injured for several months and he won’t play for the Nets until next season.
Boston Celtics have all the players available for this game.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics Prediction
It was hard to imagine that the Nets could be trailing 3-0 in this series and it’s even harder to imagine a 4-0 loss against the Celtics. This is now a matter of honor and pride for Durant and Irving, as well as their legacy. If they lose in this game again, it will be a big disgrace for them.
