For the final time this season we are in the Swiss National League A where we are analyzing the third game of the playoff final series between Zug and Zurich. After the drama in the opening two games, Zurich will be looking to notch another win and take full control of this final.

The league leaders from the regular season are succumbing to the pressure of playing big games which comes as a surprise because they are the defending champions. It seems the lack of facing any true adversity in their previous series is really taking its toll.
Zug entered this final with a flawless 8-0 playoff record and it was looking like they would take control of the series immediately after they took a 2:0 lead in the opening game. They blundered that lead conceding three unanswered goals and then lost the second game as well digging themselves into an even greater hole.
They will have to go all out in this third game at home to try keep their title hopes alive. The way this final has been going definitely hasn´t gone according to the script for them so we shouldn´t be surprised if we see them struggle once again.

Zurich
After an average regular season, Zurich are on an epic playoff run with their eyes set on winning their tenth title in history. With the quality they have, making the playoffs was never in doubt. During the regular season they never really impressed but in the end got over the line comfortably finishing in third place.
They timed their form perfectly for this postseason displaying all the characteristics of a championship-winning team so far. They coped with the pressure of elimination in the quarter-finals against Biel eventually coming out on top. That huge series win must have really raised their morale as in the following round they cruised past a very strong Fribourg side without a single loss.
This final series so far has been nothing short of spectacular. In the opener Zurich were out of the game down by two goals going into the final period. They somehow managed to come back securing a dramatic win with a last-gasp winner just two seconds before the end of regulation. Similar thing happened in game 2 when they once again overcame a deficit in the final period winning 2:1 at home thanks to another late winner.
