Nashville Predators vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction, Tips & Odds – May. 07, 2022

Colorado finished the regular season in first place in the Western Conference and already won two of the opening games of their round 1 playoff series against Nashville. Away from home once again their powerful attack should be decisive and get them the win, although it certainly will not be easy against a home team full of offensive talent.
Nashville Predators
Nashville barely made it to the playoffs which makes them outsiders in this matchup against the leaders of the conference. American bookmakers have the Predators heavily disadvantaged with their odds compared to the European ones. They are right because the hosts are playing against an unstoppable attack that crushed them in the opener by 7:2, but then Nashville recovered and played better.
They still suffered a narrow 2:1 loss after overtime in game 2 and had major goalie issues during first two games. Their starting goaltender from Finland Juuse Saros is injured and questionable for game 3 too. There is a chance he returns, but Nashville should be able to contend at home whether he plays or not. They need a win and during the regular season actually had pretty good results against the Avalanche, including home ice where they won two times.

Colorado Avalanche
Colorado are an offensive force led by their Finnish forward Mikko Rantanen. Nashville are one of the teams than compete with them in a high-scoring game so it wont be as easy it was at home for them. Coming into this game as such heavy favourites comes with added pressure. The Avalanche already had difficulties in game 2 and Nashville are definitely underestimated with odds so a home win is more than possible.
Despite all this the Avalanche should still progress as strong favourites and title contenders. It would be their first title after more than 20 years and now is the right moment because they built a high-quality lineup with depth. They are a threat to score at any moment during the game so today plenty of goals are expected from them after averaging 3.8 goals per game in the regular season, and 4.5 goals in the first two games of the series.

Nashville Predators vs Colorado Avalanche Prediction
Colorado completely outplayed Nashville in game 1. Despite the home team being the wild-card team in the playoffs, they should still be able to maintain themselves as formidable opponents throughout this series. Or at least on home ice where they usually play much better and we expect them to steal at least one game.
However, there is no value to bet on the winner of the game as we think the best value is in the total over in a game in which we can expect goals coming from both sides.
