Edmonton Oilers

Led by their hockey phenom Connor McDavid, the Oilers were expected to do much more in the last couple of years. They won their last title back in the distant 1990 as their glory days with the legendary Wayne Gretzky are long gone. Their new stalwart McDavid is definitely reminiscent of the “Great One” and he has more than enough support in Leon Draisaitl and Evander Kane. However, they have nothing in common with Edmonton in terms of style of play as their offense is not nearly as deadly. The Kings heavily rely on their defense and netminder Jonathan Quick. Against the Oilers they will have to rely on their defense more than ever as their star scorers Anže Kopitar and Adrian Kempe can´t produce the same numbers as Edmonton´s most efficient forwards.

They haven´t had the best of times this season playing against the Canadian team. Edmonton prevailed in three out of four head-to-head games and lost the only game back in December when the Kings still had their best defender and one of their best players Drew Doughty available. He is currently sidelined which is not good news playing against one of the most productive offenses led by the best player in the league.
