Colorado Avalanche vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction, Tips & Odds – June 3, 2022 02:00 CET
Colorado and Edmonton provided a great spectacle in the opening game of their Western Conference Final. In an 8:6 win Colorado almost blew a four-goal lead managing to hold off the Oilers and their comeback in the final period. It was a memorable and a controversial game but with these two teams squaring off, nothing less was expected.

As expected it was a high-scoring opening game in which both teams showcased their offensive potential. All of Colorado´s offensive lines were doing damage to Edmonton and their frail defense as the Avalanche found themselves leading 7:3 in the middle of the second period.
The Oilers refused to go away and immediately got one back scoring two more in the third period and making sure we are on the edge of our seats until the end. Hosts keept their cool and confirmed their win with a late empty-net goal and will look to extend their lead before heading to Canada.

Colorado´s multifaceted offense combined with the invidividual offensive quality of Edmonton to produce the highest scoring game 1 in Western Conference Final history. The Oilers completely depend on their unstoppable duo of McDavid and Draisaitl but can´t compete when the rest of their team doesn´t provide support.
Even with the rest of their offensive unit making plays and scoring in game 1, they just couldn´t keep up with the hosts. Colorado´s initial plan was actually to slow the game down but things opened up quickly as Edmonton took an early lead. The hosts finally stopped scoring after Edmonton switched goalies and brought in Mikko Koskinen, who had a very good game and only conceded one goal in almost two whole periods.
Colorado Avalanche vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction
There are still discussions going on regarding two of Colorado´s suspicious goals which were both allowed after a video review. After the opening game it is now clear the Oilers are outmatched without proper defense to keep up. They can maybe pick up a win or two but over the course of the entire series we think the Avalanche hold a clear advantage. That´s why we decided to avoid betting on goals in game 2 and backed the hosts to win in regulation.
