EHC Biel vs. Zurich Prediction, Tips & Odds – Apr. 02, 2022
The most dramatic quarter-final series in the Swiss National League A playoffs is taking place between sixth-placed Biel and third-placed Zurich. Favourites Zurich have failed to take control of the series and find themselves down 3:2. Visiting Biel for the third time in just a week they are facing elimination and will be looking for a vital win to force a decisive game 7 at home.
Courtesy of a strong regular season and third-place finish, Zurich skipped the opening round of the playoffs. Their opponents Biel also had the same privilege so both teams had more than enough time to prepare themselves well for this quarter-final matchup. As expected it has been a very tight and even affair so far, but what came as a surprise is that Zurich are currently behind facing an elimination threat.
Biel took control early achieving two wins and scoring a total of nine goals in the initial two games. What followed was a complete turnaround of form as Zurich quickly managed to resolve their defensive issues and tie the series at 2:2 with two shutout wins. First time they were expected to win and take the lead they failed losing the last game 3:1 at home.

In all of the games so far both teams were without certain key players. Since playoffs are a game of cat and mouse both clubs have been reluctant to release any official statements regarding the absences they have. What we do know for sure is that Biel will most likely be without one of their key defenceman Viktor Loov who is questionable. In addition, Zurich had their top scorer Denis Malgin return in the previous game after missing game 4 because of an illness.
EHC Biel vs Zurich Prediction
Despite all the difficulties they have been experiencing, we still believe in Zurich who looked much better in the last three games compared to the two opening games. It is a do or die game for them today and they have the experience to cope with this sort of pressure. We disagree with the bookmakers who are giving a slight advantage to the hosts and recommend betting on the away team to cover the +0.25 asian line.
Pick: Asian Handicap Zurich (+0.25)
