Track Preview β Suzuka
In period between 2014 and 2019, Mercedes won all six races. Lewis Hamilton did it four times, while Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas were the best once each. Michael Schumacher is the only driver who has triumphed six times in Japan.
Suzuka is a very narrow track and every mistake pays dearly. This circuit has several fast corners, so Pirelli prepared the hardest tire components for this weekend. Also, rain is predicted for Friday and Saturday, which could make this race even more interesting.
The length of the circuit in Suzuka is 5,807 kilometers, and a total of 53 laps are planned. In 2019, Hamilton set the fastest lap (1:30.983). There is only one DRS zone on main straight.
Victory and fastest lap bring the title to Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen failed to win the title last week in Singapore, so he will have a new chance this weekend in Japan. Currently, the Dutchman has 104 points more than Charles Leclerc and 106 more than teammate Sergio Perez.
After Japan, 112 points will remain in the game. This means that in order to win the title at Suzuka, Verstappen needs to score eight more points than Leclerc and six more than Perez.
In theory, Verstappen can win 26 points in Japan, eight more than the runner-up. That would happen if he wins and drives the fastest lap. There is no doubt that this will be the Dutchman main goal and he doesn’t want to wait another two weeks for the next race in Texas.
There is also no doubt that this year Verstappen will become 17th driver in Formula 1 history who won more than one world championship title. The Dutchman completely dominated this season and had no competition. In total, he won 11 of 17 races, with five more to go including Suzuka.
Prediction
Prediction: Sergio Perez to be higher placed in the race than Carlos Sainz – YES
Odds: 1.85
Sportsbook: 22Bet
Sergio Perez took victory in Singapore last week and he is in fantastic form. He pointed out that it was perhaps his best race in career.
On the other hand, Carlos Sainz was on the podium only twice in the last seven races and the Spaniard is already preparing for next year. We expect Perez to continue in the same momentum and to be well placed again.
Advices & Tips
Prediction: Sebastian Vettel to be higher placed in the race than Lance Stroll β YES
Odds: 1.85
Aston Martin had its best race of the season last weekend. Both drivers were placed inside top 10. Stroll finished sixth and Vettel eighth. We expect the German to strike back this time in one of the last performances of his career.
Prediction: Valtteri Bottas to be higher placed in the race than Kevin Magnussen β YES
Odds: 1.67
After a fantastic start to the season, Valtteri Bottas has dropped a lot in form. He last scored points in June in Canada and it’s time to change that. Haas shifted its focus to the next season and Kevin Magnussen is not providing good results in the last few races.
