Max to win it?

Max Verstappen is officially starting 7th after a lot of confusion with so many grid penalties. Ahead of him he has Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris, George Russell and Charles Leclerc. Red Bull have shown that it’s the best performer on the straights this season, we saw this at Spa where they got a 1-2 finish (despite Verstappen starting 14th). I personally think Verstappen is going to take this.

Alpine to score double points?

Alpine to score double points has been a goldmine recently. Fernando Alonso should be scoring a point with ease on Sunday, unless something drastic happens. Ocon starts 14th, but with the likes of Stroll, Vettel, Latifi, Zhou and De Vries ahead of him, he’ll be confident he can make it into the points.

Sergio Perez to climb up the field

Perez, according to the provisional FIA document, is starting P13 on race day. We’ve seen so much success from Sergio Perez at the back of the field with a strong car, and we can expect to see something similar. Bet365 are currently offering him close to even odds for him to beat Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso on Sunday, very generous odds considering Hamilton is at the back of the grid, and the Red Bull car is so much faster than the McLaren and the Alpine.

McLaren finally in a good position to gather points

Norris and Ricciardo are both starting in the second row of the grid, 3rd and 4th respectively. McLaren’s car has looked good so far this weekend, though this must be said mainly for Norris. Though Ricciardo finally pulled it out the bag and managed to have a decent qualifying, a sentence we haven’t said in a very long time. Both cars should see points on Sunday, it’s McLaren’s to lose.

Williams to score points this weekend?

No Albon for the weekend, and Nick de Vries truly stepped up and out qualified team-mate Latifi (pretty embarrassing considering de Vries isn’t used to the car like Latifi should be). We’ve seen the Williams classified three times in a row, and the odds are a bit too high likely because de Vries has stepped in, but I’m more than happy to take the odds on both drivers to be classified.
