Molde
Molde had a great start in this year’s European campaign. In the second round of the Conference League qualifying, they eliminated Elfsborg with two wins and now they face Kisvarda. Molde had a solid draw for the playoffs as well, since they will most likely play against Wolfsberger if they advance.
In the last five seasons, Molde won only one title in Norway, finishing second four times. With 13 rounds left in the Norwegian League, they are currently in first place and hoping to stay there. Molde suffered their last defeat back in May and now they are on a streak of six consecutive wins in all competitions. If they continue in this rhythm, there is no reason not to expect a triumph against Kisvarda.
The only problem for Molde is that they have several injured players, but this has been a constant case for few months now. Head coach Erling Moe changed role for some players and the absences are not felt too much. Molde will try already in first leg to achieve a convincing win as they did against Elfsborg.
Kisvarda
Last season, Kisvarda finished in second place in the Hungarian League, which is the best result in club’s history. They played European matches for the first time in July and debut was more than good. In the second round of the Conference League qualifying, they eliminated Kairat with two wins and now they will try to make another surprise.
Kisvarda is a real colony of foreigners. Against Kairat, there were only two Hungarian footballers in the starting line-up. Quite understandably, they didn’t change squad too much during this summer. Of the new players, only Dominik Kovacic found his place in starting eleven. Against Molde, they will be complete outsiders, but that doesn’t mean they will give up without a fight.
For Kisvarda, a minimal defeat would be a solid job, because they would keep realistic chance to advance in second leg. Molde is a team that plays offensively and will constantly attack, so Kisvarda will have to use every space that opens up. If their tactic willl be to keep 0:0, it will hardly end well against such a rival.
