Burton Albion vs. Ipswich Town Prediction, Tips & Odds – Aug. 16 2022 20:45 CET
One of the best and one of the worst teams in League One will meet at Pirelli Stadium in Burton upon Trent.
Burton Albion Team News
In the previous two seasons, Burton Albion survives mostly because of their manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who did an incredible job. But this season Dutch manager will have the most difficult job since he takes over as a manager in January 2021.
Burton lost a lot of players and doesn’t sing good replacement. This team is much weaker than the last season and on paper one of the biggest favourite for the relegation to League Two. The results in the opening four games prove that. Burton suffered three opening defeats without scoring a goal and conceding nine. On Saturday it was looking like Burton will win the first three points this season. They were leading 0-3 and 2-4 at Accrington but their defence was once again very poor and they conceded twice in the final minutes and the game was finished with 4-4.
Burton conceded 13 goals in four games, which is 3.25 per game, and they allowed 44 shots on goal to their opponent which is the most in the league.
Ipswich Town Team News
Ipswich Town invested a lot of money into the squad last summer 2021 but results were very poor and they sacked the manager. Kieran McKenna took the job in December last year and completely change the style of play and results. Ipswich finished the season at 11th place in the table but this summer McKenna signed players that he wants and Ipswich is the much better team this season and one of the favourites for the title and promotion.
Currently, they are leading League One with seven points after three rounds and the numbers that they have been impressive. Ipswich has the largest ball possession per game (60.3%), the largest number of accurate passes per game (409), they have the most shots on goal (43) and they allowed only 10 shots to their opponents.
Ipswich has a very good schedule in the next couple of weeks with games against Burton, Shrewsbury, Accrington, and Cambridge. They can be in a very good situation at the start of September if they pick up the highest possible points.
Ipswich won eight from their last 10 meetings with one draw and one Burton win. Four of the last five games were finished with over 2.5 goals.
