Manchester City Team News
Manchester City has five titles in the previous seven years in the Carabao Cup. They are the most successful club in this competition in recent years and only Liverpool has more trophies in Carabao Cup in history than Manchester City.

Liverpool is defending champion in Carabao Cup. They had won the tittle last year after beating Chelsea in the final on penalties. That was the first trophy in the Carabao Cup for Liverpool after 10 years and the ninth in history which is the record of the competition.
Liverpool has had a very mixed first half of the season. They are in sixth place in Premier League and already have 10 points less than Man City and 15 than Arsenal. In the Champions League, they finished in second place and because of that the draw was not easy on them and brought them together with Real Madrid in a replay of last season’s Champions League final.
Jurgen has a lot of problems with injuries and they made life more difficult for him and for Liverpool. Luis Diaz is injured and Diogo Jota missed a larger part of the first part. Thiago played only eight games because of the injury and Liverpool struggled in the first half of the season because of the very busy schedule and many injuries.
Liverpool is in the run of four consecutive wins in all competitions. Liverpool had only seven players at the World Cup and only Ibrahima Konate made it into the final and he is still unavailable.
