Qingdao vs. Shanghai Sharks Prediction, Tips & Odds – Jan. 25, 2022
One of the main CBA title favourites, Shanghai Sharks, have really stepped up their game recently. In this second stage of the regular season in Changchun, they only suffered two defeats and won 11 games, which has them sitting at second place behind the leaders Liaoning. On the other hand, Qingdao is between a rock and a hard place at the moment experiencing a result and injury crisis.
Reinforced with their second American import Noah Vonleh, Shanghai is finally looking like a title contender after a shaky first stage of the season. Board invested huge sums of money during the preseason in order to build a super team to finally secure their first title after 20 years.
They will finish off this second stage with a derby game against Guangdong in a couple of days but first, they have to face a faltering Qingdao side. Their task should not be too difficult because Qingdao lost their key domestic starter Lin Weihan recently. To make matters worse in their last game against Guangdong they lost one of their best players and scorers Dezmine Wells due to an ankle injury. Also, another one of their important role players, Li Yuanyu, was elbowed to the head and should be absent from this game.
All of these absences drastically weaken their roster which is now looking below average. Since they lost their last 8 out of 10 games, there have been rumors their coach will be fired so things are not looking good for this clash with one of the league´s heavyweights.
Shanghai already played Qingdao during the first stage and won convincingly by more than 30 points(121:88). Qingdao was without imports then but at the same time Shanghai was still playing with only one import.
Qingdao vs. Shanghai Sharks Prediction
Qingdao enters this game in poor form and without 3 crucial players against a top team that is at least a class above them at the moment. Because of their absences, they will not be able to keep up for the entire game so we expect Shanghai to win convincingly and without any major problems.
Pick: Shanghai -18.5HC
