Action in Liga Nacional continues tonight with four new games on the schedule. In one of them 15th-placed Platense will host bottom-placed Hispano Americano looking for a crucial home win after their roster was decimated by coronavirus in the last round.

It seemed Platense´s stellar rise of form from December will continue with wins against Comunicaciones(86:60) and Obera(87:79) at the start of the new year. However, less than a week ago coronavirus infiltrated their roster and infected three of their crucial starters Pinero, Aprea and Alloatti. They were unavailable in their last game against Penarol which they lost convincingly at home(86:65). What is known is that their newest signing, Dominican Adris De Leon, will make his debut tonight. Platense could not have chosen a better time to sign their first foreign import who is an experienced veteran and a proven scorer who should immediately improve their game.

After the holiday break Hispano only played one game and lost at home to Gimnasia(84:67) who were without their two best players. At the same time Hispano was also without key starters Ducasse, Saglietti and Mariani who were all infected by coronavirus during the holidays. After five days of self-isolation they returned to training but their form will surely be impacted in today´s game.

At the moment Hispano Americano is going through a very unstable period because of roster changes and covid infections. They only played one game after the break and now face a very demanding opponent away from home. Interestingly, Platense only won once at home this entire season so this game is an excellent opportunity for them to start turning their arena into a fortress.

Both teams suffered because of coronavirus recently but Platense managed to play through all the adversity and still leave a good impression. Presence of their new star signing should lift the entire team which should have some key domestic pieces back after self-isolation period.

Despite having a complete roster, Hispano´s chances are limited tonight. We consider the given spread to be too low because Platense is much better than their league position suggests. They belong to the top of table but unexpectedly had a poor start. Recently they started to recover and play much better so we think betting on them to win and cover the spread has solid value.
