Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat Prediction, Tips & Odds – May. 09, 2022

Miami Heat are up 2-1 in this series and tonight’s Game 4 will be played in Philadelphia. Joel Embiid is also back for the Sixers, he’s playing with 3 different injuries so his performance won’t be as good as he was in the regular season, but still effective enough. Sixers are 1 point favored tonight which is completely fair, however we do believe this series will most likely be tied after tonight because of how different the Sixers look at home and also with Embiid on the floor.

Philadelphia 76ers
For years, the Philadelphia 76ers have been tanking to get into a situation to fight for the NBA title. In the last few years, a couple of times they had a team that was good enough to go all the way, but that didn’t happen. After being eliminated by Atlanta Hawks last year, head coach Doc Rivers and key player Joel Embiid have accused Ben Simmons of being most responsible for the poor result. Simmons got angry because of that and refused to play for the 76ers again. In February this year, Daryl Morey and Elton Brand finally managed to trade Simmons. He was sent to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for James Harden. In that way, the 76ers paired Embiid and Harden, which was supposed to be one of the most dominant tandems in the league.
In the first round of the playoffs, they defeated the Toronto Raptors in six games and it finally seemed that this could be the season in which they will reach the NBA Finals. However, Embiid had suffered a mild concussion and a right orbital fracture in the sixth game against the Raptors. That’s why he didn’t play the first two games against Miami Heat where the 76ers were beaten easily both times. However, he returned with a mask in game number three and was most deserving of his team’s victory.

Miami Heat
Since the departure of LeBron James from Miami, it took five years for this franchise to return to a situation to compete for the NBA title once again. Erik Spoelstra and Pat Riley did a great job of drafting Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro and then upgraded it with a superstar like Jimmy Butler. That earned them a place in the 2020 NBA Finals where they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. Last season they took a step back by losing against Milwaukee Bucks 4-0 in the first round of the Eastern Conference. Last summer, they signed veterans P.J. Tucker and Kyle Lowry and that turned out to be the right move. It was just such two players that they lacked to fill all the gaps and Heat finished the regular season in first place.
They had no problems against the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs, but the Philadelphia 76ers are a much bigger challenge. They were very lucky that Joel Embiid did not play in the first two games due to injury, but now when he is back, Heat need to find a way to slow him down.

H2H
Seven times these teams have played against each other this season and H2H is 4-3 for the Miami Heat. The score was 2-2 in regular season, but now when it’s most important, Heat leads 2-1 after three games played in Eastern Conference semifinals.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat Prediction
The 76ers are highly motivated to finally go to the very end and they showed pride in game number three. With Embiid on the court, they are a much better team and it is to be expected that they will win again and thus return the series to Miami with the result 2-2.
Pick: Philadelphia 76ers to win
Odds: 1.76

Maxey in the 3 times this series (points in order): 19, 34, 21. He had 0 points at half time in Game 3, and finished with 21 which means he got all of them at 2nd half alone. Maxey is a different beast when he has to play infront of the Philadelphia crowd and he feeds off their energy. He’s also not afraid of the moment and will pull up from anywhere. We really like this position here.
Pick: Tyrese Maxey Over 19.5 Points
Odds: 1.85
