Lebanon deservedly earned a place in the semi-final after beating one of the most dominant Asian basketball nations. The Chinese team was behind for the entire game but with just a couple of minutes remaining their team managed to come back and even take the lead. After establishing control over the game, Lebanon were not going to be denied and had more nerves in a dramatic ending narrowly beating China by just 3 points(72:69).
Interestingly, they will now face a team they played against just before the start of this tournament. In the head-to-clash in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers Jordan failed to keep pace with the Lebanese team, which secured a comfortable 89:70 win around three weeks ago at home.
