The vice-champions Iran had an extra day off after their sweep of the group which they topped off with a blowout win over Japan. If they want to make it to the semi-final they will have to continue with their championship basketball, which will be more than necessary to hold off a surging Jordanian side.

Iran Team News
Three-time Asia Cup winners and the current vice-champions have their strongest lineup. Iran had no problems against outsiders Kazakhstan and Syria. When the big game finally came, many were siding with Japan but the experienced Iranian side took control of the game from the start.
Iran built a 15-point lead in the first half and never allowed Japan to come back. Other teams should be scared after that performance as Haddadi and his teammates are clearly going for gold and there is not a lot of opponents who can stop them at the moment.
The Iranian team is better organized in comparison to Jordan, whose team will be hoping to produce another upset and feed off of the momentum from their wild comeback win against Taiwan.

Jordan Team News
There is only word that can describe Jordan´s comeback win over Taiwan yesterday and that is – breathtaking.
Taiwan controlled the game from the opening tip-off and entered the final minute with a 10-point lead. It seemed Jordan were done but their superstar Freddy Ibrahim didn´t want to lose. He was the main catalyst of one of the most memorable comebacks in the Asia Cup history.
Jordan somehow clawed their way back in the last 60 seconds and made it only a one-possession game with just a couple of seconds left. With no timeouts remaining Ibrahim took the ball and made a game-winning buzzer-beater three from halfcourt which we will remember for a very long time. The crazy comeback win will definitely lift the spirits in their locker room but if they want to beat a methodical and organized Iranian team, they have to play at a much higher level.

Iran vs. Jordan Prediction
Jordan will enter the game with all the momentum in the world but Iran know how to weather the storm. They rarely lose against Jordan and mostly come out on top by around 10 points which could be the difference today.
Overall, we have decided to avoid spread betting and went for the Total Under. Iran have one of the best defenses on the continent and play at a very slow tempo. On the other hand, Jordan would prefer a high-scoring match with their import guard combo of Tucker–Ibrahim but don´t have any tactical alternations to speed up the tempo and will have to settle for a low-scoring game.
