FMP has delighted all basketball fans this season with their game. In the preseason, no one saw them as candidates for the playoffs, but they played amazing in the first part of the season and they were third on the table after 13 rounds. Garrett Nevels, one of the two best players, got injured in January, and a series of weaker results followed, but in the last two months, they found their form again. Bryce Jones was not selected in ABA League-best starting lineup, which was a big surprise considering how well the American playmaker played. Neither young head coach Nenad Stefanovic received the award for the best coach of the season, although FMP made by far the largest overachievement of all clubs in the ABA league.
In the first quarterfinal game in Podgorica, Jones did not play due to a quadriceps injury, but despite that, FMP had a chance to win until the very end. Nevels played for the first time since January, although predictions did he won’t play this season again, he was not able to make a big contribution.

The atmosphere in Podgorica is so bad that the club management and all fans of Buducnost cannot wait for the end of this season. Ambitions and expectations were not big as in previous years, but after good results in the first part of the season, fans expected a fight for the trophy in both ABA League and Eurocup. However, at the beginning of 2022, the form dropped a lot and to this day, head coach Aleksandar Dzikic has not managed to return the team to the level they were in the period from October to December last year.
Older players like Vladimir Micov and Marko Jagodic Kuridza have fallen out of shape, starting center Willie Reed has broken his Achilles tendon and finished the season, while Danilo Nikolic is far from previous year’s form, which is understandable since he missed six months of basketball after brain surgery. Best player Justin Cobbs has also played very poorly in the past two months and all this has led to Buducnost in the Eurocup being knocked out in the round 16 while no one in the ABA League sees them as a team that could go all the way and wins the title.

Three times this season FMP and Buducnost played against each other and all three times Buducnost won. In the first game in this quarterfinals, it was 76:70 in Podgorica. FMP is 8-5 at home in the ABA league this season, while Buducnost is 8-5 at road in same competition.
Completely unexpectedly and without public information, Bryce Jones did not play for FMP in game number one due to a quadriceps injury. Except for Willie Reed, Buducnost have all players available.
FMP vs. Buducnost Prediction
Despite bad form lately, Buducnost is a much better team than FMP and will do everything they can to prevent this series from returning to Podgorica for deciding third game. Jones injury further complicates things for the home team and even if he plays, he will not be completely ready.
Prediction: Buducnost -3HC
