After watching the heart-stopping semi-final clash between Jordan and Lebanon, we are struggling to find words to describe the game and the dramatic ending we witnessed. Jordan were very close and on the verge of beating another title favourite after Iran, but this time their luck ran out.
It seemed Jordan had another upset all wrapped up leading by two possessions with a little under five minutes remaining, but Lebanon gave them a taste of their own medicine. It was a final minute worthy of a semi-final match, as the Lebanese team managed to come back and take a minimal lead with around 30 seconds left on the clock.
They almost blew it by comitting fouls and giving away easy free throw opportunities, which allowed Jordan to regain the lead. The Cedars needed a hero and it was their old leader Wael Arakji who took responsibility and made the game-winning shot.

As expected, the Boomers took control of their semi-final clash against their biggest rivals and neighbours New Zealand from the get-go. The Australian team was enjoying a 10-point lead for more or less the entire game but the Tall Blacks refused to go away and remained within touching distance.
With around 3 minutes left, they were rewarded for their efforts and cut Australia´s lead to only two points. Unfortunately, they didn´t have enough left in the tank to complete the comeback, as the more physical Australian side pulled away in the final minutes to claim a comfortable 85:76 win.
Lebanon vs Australia Prediction
The final test for Australia will also be their toughest one so far. With the majority of their main competitors appearing without some of their key players, only Lebanon seemed like they could pose a serious threat.
Lebanon have the toughness and physicality to match Australia´s frontcourt, but overall the quality is on the side of the Boomers. They should be able to win and defend their title but we think the game should be close so we decided to back Lebanon to cover the spread.
