Bulgaria vs. Turkey Prediction

After a very “narrow” victory in the first round against Montenegro, the Turkish national team will try to get points in a slightly easier way in the duel with Bulgaria.

Considering the quality, the Bulgarian national team is the biggest outsider in group A.

In the first round, they lost to Spain by 114:87, and that defeat could have been much more convincing if the Spaniards had not “relaxed” in the third quarter.

Dee Bost’s performance in Game 1 was lacking, so we expect him to be more active this time around, and take some of the pressure off Vezenkov.

Considering the much more difficult opponent that awaits them, we believe that Bulgaria’s outside line will be much more active and therefore more effective.

The Turks started their journey at the Eurobasket much more difficult than expected. Although they had the epithet of big favorites against Montenegro, their victory “hung in the air” until the very finish.

The match with Montenegro was a great opportunity for the Turks to learn from their mistakes, because they will need a much better form in the future if they want to achieve a more significant result.

Larkin, Osman and Sengun were the decisive players in the first round, and since the Bulgarians are a much weaker opponent, we expect the rest of the team to have a significant contribution.

A safe and convincing victory would mean a lot for the Turkish players when it comes to self-belief, as they have some very tough matches ahead of them.

The last mutual duel between these two teams was played 10 years ago at the European Championship, and then Turkey was more successful with 70:65.

Bulgaria vs. Turkey Prediction

Considering that the Bulgarians like to play at a faster pace, it is quite realistic to expect that they will force “run and gun” against Turkey as well. For this reason, we believe that Bulgaria’s outside line will have a more significant contribution, which should affect the performance of the center line.

Emil Stoilov spent less than 13 minutes on the field against Spain, and during that time he scored 12 points. Considering the above, we believe that the margin of 9.5 points is too high, and we simply have to “take” the under. Plus, Vezenkov should once again be a key player for the Bulgarian national team.

Prediction: Emil Stoilov Under 9.5 points
