Cibona has gone through many phases this season. From the very beginning, it was clear that they have one of the most talented rosters in the ABA league. Players like Lovro Gnjidic, Roko Prkacin, Amar Gegic, Danko Brankovic, and Toni Nakic have the potential to play at least in the Euroleague in their careers. In the first part of the season, Cibona did not play in accordance with their potential, so coach Vladimir Jovanovic was fired. New head coach Gasper Okorn quickly changed things and showed the real quality that Cibona possesses. They won Croatian Cup, and in the ABA league they had a series of four convincing victories. They are now in a series of four consecutive defeats, but the schedule was significantly more difficult because they played against Red Star, Buducnost, Igokea and FMP.
All the mentioned clubs will play in ABA League playoffs. In parallel with the ABA league, Cibona is playing the Croatian championship where they are fighting with Zadar and Split for the best possible starting position before the quarterfinals. This match against Split will be crucial for at least the second position on the table.

Behind Split is an extremely busy week. This will be their fourth game in seven days. Previous three games were quite demanding and Split players spent a lot of energy against Zadar, Mega and FMP. Fact is that this team is filled mainly with older players and the process of recovery and regeneration is not as fast as with younger teams such as Cibona. However, Split will have to play at a high level in Zagreb in order to stay in the hunt for second place, which would guarantee them home court advantage in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the Croatian championship.
The good thing for Split is that they avoided the last place in the ABA league and in the next few weeks they can shift the focus to the domestic league. Since Shawn Jones returned after a serious injury, coach Srdjan Subotic have another quality player in the rotation. In tandem with Shannon Shorter, Jones represents extra quality and Split has the ambition to fight for the title in Croatia this year.

After 25 rounds in the domestic championship, both clubs are at 19-6. The one who celebrates in this duel will take second place on the table, one win behind Zadar (21-5). Cibona is 10-3 at home in the Croatian league, while Split is 9-3 at the road. Cibona and Split have played four times this season and the score is 2-2.
Kresimir Radovcic will not play for Cibona. He ended the season due to injury. Darko Bajo didn’t played for Split in the last few games and he is questionable.
Cibona vs. Split Prediction
Cibona had fewer games this week and will be physically more fit. Also, in the last two duels between them and Split, Cibona achieved convincing victories. Each time they had a big advantage in paint with Brankovic and there is no reason that will not be the case this time as well, although Split now have Jones on the roster.
Pick: Cibona -5.5HC
