Auckland Tuatara Team News
Auckland have been going through a season full of adversity but they fought through it all and currently find themselves right next to top. With their American import Chris Johnson dominating the league during the early stages, they were considered to be the main title favourites. After he left the team to play in the BIG3, many thought the Tuatara would start faltering but surprisingly they started playing even better.
They looked terrific during their southern road trip at the start of the month taking down both the Sharks and the Nuggets by double-digits but then suffered an unexpected setback against the Rams last week. They will be looking for a swift recovery and the Sharks will be looking to spoil the party but judging by their h2h clash from two weeks ago(Tuatara won 89:77), that will hardly happen.

Southland Sharks Team News
One word that perfectly describes the play of the Sharks lately is – sad. Lack of defensive effort and turnovers have been hampering them all season long and their last couple of games were no different. Their body language is horrible as it seems they are just basically waiting for the end of this dreadful season.
Besides some roster changes and absences, the primary thing that threw them off was the absence of their coach and mentor Rob Beveridge. After a serious accident, he was away for quite some time and his team looked lost on the court without him. He finally returned last week but his presence wasn´t enough against the league leaders Nelson away from home. However, the Sharks finally showed some determination and managed to avoid an embarrassing blowout in the final quarter losing by a respectable margin of eight points.
The @GiantsNZNBL move to 9-4 on the season with an 89-81 win over the @SouthlandSharks 🔥@jarrod_west totaled 18 PTS with 11 AST on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 from three for the Giants 💯

Auckland Tuatara vs. Southland Sharks Prediction
The Tuatara will be hoping to take advantage of Southland´s poor form to finally snap their losing streak at home. A win would solidify their current position but also keep them alive in the fight for the top spot. On the other hand, the Sharks are coming to town hoping to improve their 3-10 record and give their fans something to cheer about after months of struggle.
All in all, the guests really don´t have anything going for them at the moment so we will back Auckland to win and to cover the spread.
