Anadolu Efes

As was the case last season, Anadolu Efes started to play their best basketball at the moment when it was most needed. They are now only one win away from Final Four and head coach Ergin Ataman has repeatedly said recently that his team will win the Euroleague again. Shane Larkin plays like in his best days, while Vasilije Micic is at a constantly high level. Compared to all other teams, Efes did not change almost anything in their roster in the last three years, so everyone knows each other very well. That knows to be crucial in key parts of the season.

In the game number three, Efes got a great performance from Tibor Pleiss who was a threat from a distance as well. In addition to Larkin and Micic, it is necessary to always have a few more players in a good offensive mood, while Efes’s defense is at an extraordinary level throughout the entire quarterfinal series. Their arena in Istanbul has been sold out again, so they will have huge support from the stands.

Olimpia Milano

Milan did not have any luck recently. Nicolo Melli and Malcolm Delaney dropped out due to injuries, while many players were infected with the coronavirus just before the quarter-final series against Anadolu Efes and are not in the best condition. Despite all mentioned problems, Milan managed to win game number 2 in Italy and they had a chance in the last game in Istanbul, but they did not have an answer for Shane Larkin in the fourth quarter. There is no doubt that Ettore Messina will prepare a good plan for the new game, because club’s ambition is to play in the Final Four again, after qualifying for it last year for the first time in 29 years.

There is a lot of experienced players on Milan’s roster: Sergio Rodriguez, Kyle Hines, Luigi Datome, and Shavon Shields. They all know how to win trophies and have enough experience to lead a team in such an important game. Milan will go out on the court with the desire to do everything they can to return the series to Italy for the decisive fifth game, and it remains to be seen whether they will succeed in that.

In the regular season, Milan won both games against Anadolu Efes, but the Turkish team leads 2-1 in this quarterfinal series, which is much more important. Not counting the results against Russian clubs, Milan is the only team besides Barcelona that managed to beat Efes in Istanbul this season and that could be very important in terms of self-confidence.

For undisclosed reasons, Rodrigue Beaubois and Krunoslav Simon did not play for Anadolu Efes in game number three and their status is questionable.

Trey Kell, Nicolo Melli and Malcolm Delaney will not play for Milan.

Anadolu Efes vs. Olimpia Milano Prediction

Despite the absence of Melli and Delaney, Milan still have quality to play a good game against Efes and will certainly not come out with a white flag. A nine-point handicap on this odds is a really great choice.
