The Nuggets faced a lot of adversity playing against the league leaders away from home a week ago but still managed to come away with a very important win. Otago were without two key pieces but at the last second brought in a new American import and stunned Auckland.

Otago Nuggets Team News
In their last game, the Nuggets were without Nikau McCullough, who is temporarily absent, and best player Tahjere McCall, who is pursuing his NBA dream and will not be returning. They replaced him with a very efficient American scorer Billy Boyd, who arrived after fantastic performances in Finland. With 28 points in his debut, he led his undermanned team to victory away from home against the main title favourites.
With the Rams playing poorly, the Nuggets will be expected to take this game in front of their home crowd. They will still miss McCullough, who is playing at the 3×3 World Cup but have shown they have enough firepower to beat the best team in the league with their current roster. That is why they have to be regarded as strong favourites heading into this game which they have to win if they want to stay in the fight for the top position.

Canterbury Rams Team News
The Rams have been going through a lot of roster changes recently and it has immediately reflected on their results. They lost one of their best players, import addition Matur Maker from the Australian NBL team Sydney Kings, and also had a few other absences. All of this resulted with two heavy losses against the Franklin Bulls and the Manawatu Jets.
In their last game they tried to replace their absent players with new foreign additions. Larry Austin was not in the team while Matthew Moyer had a limited role and looked very poor. Their struggles could continue because they lost an important presence in their frontcourt. Home team has one of the best centers in the league and Canterbury will most likely struggle with rebounding. That will give huge advantage to the hosts who are in excellent offensive form and averaging close to 85 points per game.
