UFC Fight Night 204: Volkov vs. Aspinall – How to watch it live, betting preview
After almost three years, the UFC is returning to London. The last event at the O2 Arena in London was led by Till and Masvidal, but due to the Covid situation and bans worldwide, most UFC events were held at the UFC Apex Center or Fight Island. The UFC, like last time when the whole world was collapsing, found a way to organize events and showed that it is one of the most serious sports organizations.
Also, today, when the political situation in Europe is tense, where sanctions are being imposed on fighters from Russia, the UFC decided not to mix politics and sports so that this event, like the previous ones, will be led by one fighter from Russia.
UFC Fight Night 204 is finally coming at a time suitable for all MMA fans in Europe, as the prelims start around 6 pm and the main fights around 9 pm.
Alexander Volkov vs. Tom Aspinall
The main event of the evening is the fight in the heavyweight category, between Volkov, who is ranked sixth on the UFC list, and the local guy from Liverpool, Tom Aspinall, who is eleventh on the ranking list.
Volkov is only now entering the best years for heavyweights, as they say, which are from 34 to 37 when heavyweights reach their prime. Volkov is 33 years old, he has vast experience, he has 43 fights, and he is a former champion of both M1 and Bellator. He is primarily a stand-up fighter with great distance control and movements. He is a very patient fighter and technically excellent. He has excellent kicks to the body that Sammy Schilt very effectively used in K1. The last match was won by Marcina Tyburu, very dominant throughout the match.
Aspinall may have unexpectedly got a chance to jump a couple of steps with this fight. He is in a series of seven victories, which is a really good result in the heavyweight category, regardless of the quality of the opponent. He’s 4-0 in the UFC, and the last two appearances against Arlovski and Spivak have been great. One complete fighter, with top boxing, who trains together with Tayson Fury and his team, and a master in BJJ.
Great matchup for both of them; with the win, they get a lot, especially since Ngannou won’t be fighting for a year and hasn’t signed a new contract yet; Lewis and Stipe Miocic are in slightly descending form, so a new generation is coming and everyone has a chance.

Arnold Allen vs. Dan Hooker
Perhaps the most interesting match of this event will be the fight in the featherweight category between the home fighter, still undefeated in the UFC, Arnold Allen, and the New Zealander who is returning to the featherweight category Dan Hooker.
Allen has a fantastic run of seven wins in the UFC. The last win was against Sodiq Yusuff, whose qualities we had a chance to watch last weekend. Allen dominated him, although Yusuff is considered one of the strongest physical fighters in this category. Allen is always impeccably ready, especially fit. A complete fighter, in all segments of the fight, he progresses from fight to fight.
Hooker is returning to the featherweight category after five years; the last few fights in the lightweight category have not bloomed. Of the previous four fights, three he lost, especially the last one when Islam Makhachev finished him too quickly. Hooker is a very attractive fighter, has excellent Muay Thai, throws many knees, and uses Muay Thai techniques. Most of his camps work in Thailand at the famous Tiger Gym. Like Allen, he is excellent on the ground floor, a true modern MMA fighter. A great technical and tactical fight awaits us.

Certainly, an interesting event, with many new names and those fighters who are less promoted, this time in the lead roles. There is enough motivation for them to prove themselves and for MMA fans to find some of their new favorites.
