UFC 272 Latest News & Stories – How to watch UFC live, betting trends and best bets

This weekend in UFC 272, we have a real “bad blood” match, after which there will probably be no hugs and handshakes, at least that’s the impression when we talk about the whole story between former best friends and now great rivals, Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal. The event is being held in Las Vegas, but this time it will not be the UFC’s Apex Center, but a big stage, the T-Mobile Arena, which will be filled to capacity.
Colby Covington vs. Jorge Masvidal
Colby and Jorge have interesting life stories, especially Masvidal. Masvidal was born and raised in Miami, Florida, in the most dangerous parts of Miami. He was a Latino gang member and is known for fighting in street fights, which organized the world-famous Kimbo Slice. One of these street fights made Jorge Masvidal famous. He showed great courage and boxing, making him think more seriously about his martial arts career. He chose ATT, and history began.
On the other hand, Colby is a classic “All American” character, who graduated in sociology, and channeled his nature through wrestling, where he achieved excellent results. Basically, his chaos, as he is nicknamed, could not always be channeled, as, in the past, he was punished for participating in shootings and bar fights. He decided to cash his great wrestling and physical fitness in MMA. He chose ATT, where he found Jorge Masvidal.
Their madness brought them closer; they were roommates, trained together, and they were inseparable. But such diametrically different characters find it challenging to stay in great relationships, especially fighters who have a big ego. Something broke between them, so much so that coaches and colleagues had to calm them down and separate them in training. So Colby left ATT and started training in the MMA Masters. Their name-calling insults have been going on for years, so the UFC has decided to pair them finally, and that will be this weekend. A fiery weekend awaits us, from the weigh-in to the fight itself and probably after the fight.

Dos Anjos vs. Moicano
The match between the two Rafaels does not seem to have been destined. Fiziev dropped out again due to visa problems, so Dos Anjos was again left without an opponent in the fight week. Renato Moicano, who had a match about twenty days ago and beat Alex Hernandez, came in as a replacement. Maybe the best replacement for Fiziev was Islam Makhachev, but he had a match last weekend. In correspondence on Twitter, Dos Anjos did not agree to three kilos more than he agreed to the match with Moican. He chooses an opponent outside the TOP15, not a fighter who is ranked better than him and had a match seven days ago. Moicano, can’t lose anything in this fight and can only gain both financially, which is undoubtedly due to the acceptance of short notices; with the victory against the former champion, he will enter the very top of the never stronger light category. They are similar fighters with a similar fighting style, so one can expect outwitting on the ground floor.
Barboza vs. Mitchel
The UFC never disappoints with its fights, and this time they paired perhaps the two most attractive fighters, who have a totally different martial arts background. Certainly, betting sites will have the hardest job in this match to set the right odds. Namely, it is a fight in the featherweight category between one of the best hitters and owner of perhaps the best knockout in UFC history, Edson Barboza, who dropped to the lower category, and very likely the best BJJ fighter, currently in the UFC, Bryce Mitchell. Barboza fought with everyone who is worth in the lightweight category; many wars are behind him, but also experience. While Mitchell, a young lion, is still undefeated in the Octagon. This duel is not to be missed.

Other Fights
This UFC 272 has a very strong and introductory part to the program. The prelims are led by Jalin Turner and Jamile Mullarkey. At the same time, the most interesting fight of this part of the program is the light heavyweight fight between Kennedy Nzechukwu and Nicolae Negumereanu. The commentators and analysts of this match will probably break the tongues of these two fighters, but we are sure that they will return with a good fight.
In the early prelims, the fights of Umar Nurmagomedov and Kellehar should be singled out, as well as the fight in the light heavyweight category at the opening of the event between Oleksiejczuk and Dustin Jacoby. It’s a little unclear why these two fights were set so early on the card. Had they been held last week, they would very likely have been in the main part of the program. This figure says a lot about the quality of UFC 272 itself.
The event starts about 1 hour after midnight Central European Time, and the broadcast will be on the Fight Sports Club. Also, on our site, you can expect some free tips from this UFC event.
