Hello, Premier League fans! Today we will review some exciting news that happened in the past seven days in English Premier League. So sit tight and enjoy the show!

After years of bad decisions, did Man Utd finally made a good appointment?

Manchester United fans finally have something to cheer about. Ole is sacked, and a new interim manager is founded. One of the best coaches, and sporting directors, Ralf Rangnick, will be a new Man Utd interim manager until the end of the season.

Rangnick, 63, is one of the best German coaches. He has a good eye for young talent, and he is an equally good sporting director as manager. He signed a 6-month contract until the end of the season, and after that, he will be sporting director at Man Utd for another two years, which is an excellent thing for Red Devils.

Rangnick is famous for his gegen-press tactics, and fans hope that he will build a good base for the next manager in the summer. Together new manager and Rangnick as sporting director will hopefully make Man Utd better and stronger to fight for titles with Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

The main target for summer is Mauricio Pochettino, and the good thing is that Pochettino’s philosophy is the same as Rangnick’s.

After the years of awful decisions by the Man Utd board, it seems like that this one finally makes sense and potentially is very good for the future of the club.

The problem for Thomas Tuchel: Ben Chilwell is facing a lengthy spell out!

Chelsea will be without left-back Ben Chilwell for at least six weeks after defender surfer knee injury in a match against Juventus on Tuesday evening. But, the bad news is that recovery can be longer if he needs surgery.

The next six weeks will answer the question of whether surgery is needed or not. If everything is ok, Chilwell will be back on the pitch after six weeks, but this season is over for him if surgery is needed.

The English defender starts the season as the second choice left-back behind Marcos Alonso. But, in the last couple of weeks, he has started to perform very well and scores three goals in Premier League.

Chilwell signs for Chelsea in the summer of 2020 from Leicester for 50 million pounds.

Good week for English teams in Europe… Except for Tottenham Hotspur

This week was excellent for all English clubs in the European competitions. Six of seven teams grabbed wins, and only Tottenham managed to lose against the Slovenian side Mura.

Chelsea beat Juventus at home 4-0, Liverpool beat Porto at Anfield 2-0, Man Utd scored late goals in Champions League, and with Michael Carrick on the bench, they beat Villarreal 2-0. In the derby match of the round, Man City came from behind to defeat PSG 2-1.

Before the last round, all four English teams have qualified for the knockout phase of the Champions League. Three has secured first-place finish, and only Chelsea must beat Zenit in the last round to finish on the top of the group.

The teams that participate in Europe League also have a good week. David Moyes made a lot of changes in West Ham starting XI, but his side beats Rapid Wien and has qualified for the knockout phase of the competition. Leicester manages to beat Legia, but Brendan Rodgers’s team must fight until the end for a place in the knockout phase. In the last round, Leicester travels to Napoli and must avoid defeat if they want to finish at least at second place and get qualified for the knockout phase of the Europe League. Defeat will, probably, send them to Conference League.

The loser of the week is Tottenham Hotspur. Antonio Conte made 9 changes in starting eleven from the game against Leeds, and his side manage to lose against Mura.

Tottenham is in a very bad position because they are 3rd in group behind Vitesse and the Dutch side has a better Head-to-head. So, if Vitesse wins at home to Mura in the last round, Tottenham is out of Conference League.

A class act from Brentford to their supporters

Brentford has announced that this season’s home kit will stay as a home kit for another season because the club wants to make shirts more affordable for supporters.

The Bees has one of the cheapest shirts of all Premier League sides. The cost of the Brentford shirt is about 50 pounds.

Brentford chief executive Jon Varney said:

“Respectful, Progressive and Togetherness are our three core values at Brentford FC, as many of our fans know. We also believe in football being affordable for our fans and are aware of the need for the game to become more focused on sustainability. As such, when we discussed the idea, everyone at the club was fully behind it.

Brentford is one very interesting club. His owner is a master in gambling, the club function on Moneyball system, during the last year they built a new stadium, and this year they promoted to Premier League for the first time in their history.
