Hello, Premier League fans! Today we will review some exciting news in the past seven days in English Premier League. So sit tight and enjoy the show!
Everton sack Rafa Benitez
After six months and 200 days, Rafa Benitez got sacked. After Saturday’s defeat at Carrow Road against Norwich, the Spaniard relieved duties on Sunday.
The Everton fans were against him in the first place because Rafa Benitez is a Liverpool legend. Some of his moves were not very clear. He cut James Rodrigues out of the team during the summer, and later, he sold him. He let Moise Kean go to Juventus in the situation when Everton doesn’t have a second striker in the team, and his last bad move was to sell Lucas Digne to Aston Villa, just a couple of days before he was sacked.
Rafa Benitez leaves Everton in a very bad position. Right now, they are in 16th place in the table with 19 points, only 6 points above the relegation zone, and with only one win in the last 13 league games.
Everton fans called for Benitez to be sacked for over two months, and finally, the board heard their voice. But, what to do now? Who will replace Rafa? The Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, the ex-Everton manager, is the leading candidate by English bookmakers. Other names are Wayne Rooney, Niko Kovac, and Frank Lampard.
Everton has to play against Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Leeds United, and Southampton in the next couple of weeks.
Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as first team manager.

Who is right: Ralf Rangnick or Anthony Martial?
Manchester United drew against Aston Villa on Saturday in the game where they were 2-0 up after 67 minutes, but in the end, they conceded two goals and lost two points.
The new manager Ralf Rangnick didn’t bring something new to the United squad, and the results are not too much better than they were during the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era. In the last four league games, United has only one win, and it was at Old Trafford against Burnley, one of the weakest teams in the league.
A couple of players are struggling with Rangnick’s methods, and some of them are not happy with the minutes they have. One of them is Anthony Martial. The French striker said that he wants to leave the club.
After the Saturday game at Villa Park, Ralf claimed that Martial refused to be in the United squad for the game, and that was the reason why he wasn’t on the bench. Only a couple of hours later, Anthony Martial gave a response.
The 26-year-old wrote messages on his Instagram profile in which he said”:
“I will never refuse to play a match for Man Utd, I have been here for seven years, and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans.”
Spanish side Sevilla is interested in signing Martial, but they cannot match his salary.
Christian Eriksen to return to the Premier League?
The Danish maestro is close to the Premier League return. On Monday morning, the English media reported that Premier League side Brentford is ready to give Christian Eriksen a six-month contract. The 29-year-old midfielder didn’t play a single game since EURO 2020 when they suffered a cardiac arrest during the game against Finland. Recently, he terminated a contract with Inter. He is a free agent, Brentford’s owner is from Denmark, the manager Thomas Franks is also from Denmark, and a couple of players in the Brentford squad are from this Scandinavian county.
Christian Eriksen spent five and a half years in the Premier League, where he played for Tottenham Hotspur. He played 226 games and scored 51 goals.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank: “We are flattered to be linked with Christian Eriksen, he absolutely deserves to play at top level. And no, I’ve not spoken to Christian at the moment”. 🇩🇰 #Brentford #transfers pic.twitter.com/9XSFBXTYIZ
