Premier League Weekly | Latest News & Stories – Dec. 03, 2021

Hello, Premier League fans! Today we will review some exciting news that happened in the past seven days in English Premier League. So sit tight and enjoy the show!
Antonio Conte Is Facing a Big Problem
The Italian manager is only four weeks at Tottenham, but he has many problems as he had previously in Inter. Tottenham lost to Mura last week and is close to missing out on qualifying for the knockout stage of the Conference League. The match against Burnley on Sunday is postponed because of snow, and yesterday Conte announced that one of the key players will not play again this year.
Cristian Romero was injured during the game against Brazil while playing for Argentina, and he didn’t play against Leeds. The Tottenham manager said that he will be out until January or February. Romero signed for Tottenham from Atalanta this summer for 50 million pounds, and he is, without a doubt, the best defender on this team.
The defense was one of the biggest problems for all Tottenham managers in the last couple of years, not only for Antonio Conte, and will be interesting to see how Spurs will cope with that.

Newcastle Still Waiting for a Victory
In the first 7th tiers of English football, there are 11 leagues. The first five have one league each, the sixth rank has two leagues, the North and the South, and the 7th rank has four leagues. In these leagues, there are 245 clubs, and by now, only two don’t have league victory at the start of December.
One of that two clubs is Newcastle United, and the second one is Dover Athletic from the National League (5th rank).
Newcastle is rock bottom of the Premier League with only 7 points. On Tuesday, they drew a 1-1 with Norwich at St James Park in the match where they played with ten players for 80 minutes. This was the 14th attempt for Newcastle to get the first victory this season, and they failed again.
Eddie Howe has a home debut, but he was ruined after just nine minutes after Ciaran Clark received a red card. Newcastle took the lead from a penalty in the 61st minute, but Teemu Pukki leveled the score in 79th minutes. Newcastle can be happy with that point because Norwich was a much better team in the last 10 minutes, and Pierre Lees Melou has a fantastic chance to seal all three points for Norwich.
Howe has another chance to get the first victory. On Saturday, Burnley will visit St James Park. This is a “six-point game.” If Newcastle fails to get three points there, they are in massive trouble. After Burnley’s game, they have to play against Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Everton in the space of just 18 days!
Can You Guess Who Is the Player with the Lowest Salary in English Professional Football?
He was making millions, and now he has one of the lowest salaries in the top 4 leagues in England. You probably will never guess. The answer is Andy Carroll!
The Championship side Reading signed a short-term contract with the ex-Newcastle striker until January. Because of the transfer embargo, Reading can offer him a weekly salary of just 1,000 pounds.
Andy Carroll left Newcastle during the summer, and he was without a club for months. Reading came with the offer, and a 32-year-old striker accepted it.
So, the player with nine appearances for the England national team and two goals earns less than some players in the fifth tier of English football.
Reading will have the option to give him a better contract in January, only if they sell some players and make a space in the budget.
“We’re all in the same boat, going for the same thing!” 💙

Sean Dyche’s Burnley Didn’t Play This Week, but His Son Was a Hero This Saturday
If you didn’t know, Sean Dyche’s son plays football, and he is a member of Northampton Town in League Two.
Max Dyche, who is 18 years old and plays as a center-back, made this season’s debut on Saturday in a game against Leyton Orient. Northampton won a game 1-0, and Max grabs an assist in the 41st minute and sets up Sam Hoskins’s winning goal.
Max made the debut for the first team last season in December against Crewe Alexandra and played two times in League One last season.
The Story of the Week: The Referee Stopped the Games Because He Had to Move His Car!
The lower league in England brings such joy and incredible stories every week. Last weekend the main story happened in-game between Curzon Ashton and Chester in the FA Trophy. The two sides from the sixth tier have met in the 2nd round of the competitions.
The game was stopped in the 15th minute because the main referee needed to leave the stadium and move his car.
The pause was 10 minutes long, and when the referee moved his car, the match was resumed. Curzon Ashton won it 2-1.
